Bury me under the sea

The Neptune society has come up with an interesting way to spend an afterlife. Under the sea. Seriously. I put their link up, its worth gawking at.

Despite the somewhat wacky and unconventional nature of this, for lack of a better word, graveyard, I wouldn't mind making this my finally resting place.

Here's why:
1.) Supposedly its very green and the memorials are actually a fish habitat. You could spend an eternity watching the fish and sea monsters go by.
2.) I've always loved the ocean and water in general, possibly because I'm an Aquarius. Or it might be due to the fact I live in a desert and its 104 degrees outside; living under the sea sounds appealing in general.
3.) If you're in the ocean its not likely ghost hunters will hang out and harass you.
4.) You have lots of cute options of memorials to house your ashes, I think I would choose the starfish.
5.) The funeral would be a unique and (somewhat) enjoyable outing as the Neptune people put everybody on a boat and you get to watch an underwater video of your starfish (or whatever) being placed at the bottom of the ocean.

I hope I'm not coming off as morbid or anything, I just think it's neat.

Typewriter keys

As long as I can remember I have been fascinated by old typewriters. Something about the round keys slightly suspended and separated from another just seems elegant. Occasionally I discover a typewriter at a thrift store or on Craig's list. It is always painful not to buy one when I see it. They are always out of my price range for impulse items. Especially for those that are of no true use and that would just take up space in my already cramped casita.

To me these typewriters of yesteryear are musical instruments begging to be played.

I've always loved the clicking sounds old typewriter keys make. A while back I purchased the movie Atonement. I enjoyed the movie for many reasons but I must admit I was quite taken with their use of various typewriters and the whimsical sounds they make. I wonder if I would have bought the DVD had the film lacked the clicking and clacking. Perhaps not. (Tangent sorry.)

Back to my initial obsession. Owning an old typewriter has been a nerdy fantasy of mine for eons now. Alas, I still don't have one but today I got the next best thing! I got a typewriter key bracelet! I've been tapping on the keys around my wrist and it's very satisfying. I found a lovely little site from Etsy where I purchase said bracelet. Mines not the one pictured, it has both letters and numbers and I psychotically love it.
Made from genuine keys, the bracelet was reasonable priced and I cannot stress how lovely it is. This site has so many trinkets I desire... http://www.keysandmemories.com/

Interrobang!?

In the 1960s somebody decided there was a need for a symbol that was a combination of a question mark and an explanation point. They called it the interrobang. For a couple of glorious years the interrobang was hip, it made the big time and was added to typewriters. Tragically the interrobang fell out of style, never making it to computer keyboards.

I wish the powers that be (whomever happens to be the Grand Poobah of punctuation) would bring back the interrobang.

I have so many questions to exclaim.

Rainy Day

Rainy days remind me of fresh starts...
